Hijaab Can Make You Win an Olympic Medallion!

" I hope that my wearing the hijood sports top will inspire other women to see that modesty or religious beliefs don’t have to be a barrier to participating in competitive sports."

Sprinters have long been squeezing their muscular frames into the most eye-wateringly skimpy, tight and revealing costumes imaginable.
But one female athlete at this year’s Olympics is bucking the trend for bulging lycra and naked torsos.
In 2004, Bahrain's Ruqaya Al Ghasara, a devout Muslim, was the first athlete to ever take part in an Olympics wearing a hijab.

Today, Al Ghasara won her heat of the women’s 200m sprint at the Bird's Nest stadium - despite being clothed head to foot.
Al Ghasara finished first followed by France's Muriel Hurtis-Houairi and Sri Lanka's Susanthika Jayasinghe.
Admittedly, Al Ghasara 's hijab is a rather sportier version of the traditional dress.
Clinging to her body as she powers down the track the hijab completely covers her head, arms and legs.
Known as a Hijood - or hijab combined with a sports hood - the costume was specially designed for Al Ghasara by an Australian sports clothing company.
It allows Muslim athletes to compete while still adhering to the strict modesty required of their faith.

Al Ghasara, who was the Bahrain flag-bearer at last week’s opening ceremony, jas said the Hijood has improved her performance.
'It’s great to finally have a high performance outfit that allows me to combine my need for modesty with a design made from breathable, moisture-controlled fabric,” she said.
'It’s definitely helped me to improve my times being able to wear something so comfortable and I’m sure it will help me to give my best performance at Beijing.
'I hope that my wearing the hijood sports top will inspire other women to see that modesty or religious beliefs don’t have to be a barrier to participating in competitive sports.'
In 2004 Al Ghasara defied objections from fundamentalists in her village to take part in the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens, running in the 100 metres.
And in 2006 she won the women’s 200m final at the 2006 Asian Games in Doha, making her the first Bahraini-born athlete to win a major international athletics gold medal.

8 ways of finding the right person to marry

8 ways of finding the right person to marry

#2 WOULD YOU MARRY YOURSELF?
Because that is how I roll

‘Ofcourse I would, I am pure awesomeness, I am the very defin…’ if that is your answer then I can tell you right now that you don’t really have the right mentality for marriage. We often get blinded by the search for the ultimate partner that we neglect to look at ourselves.
We cry and say why won’t anyone marry me? But do nothing to change ourselves. How do you treat people when you get upset? What do you do if you hold a grudge? Do not turn a blind eye to all these important issues, rather tackle them one by one. No one is perfect but that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t be trying.
If you truly and sincerely work on your own flaws, and really do become more caring and loving then you will notice how people will look at you differently. People will start to think of you as ‘wifey’ material because you are good with kids, because you care for others, because you forgive people and don’t hold grudges don’t gossip etc the list is long but if you take one step at a time you will be married before you know it.
Well you would know of it, ’cause I mean you couldn’t get married without knowing about it, right? So technically you would know about it, but yeah whatever.
#1 DU’AA
Dua is the weapon of the believer, why not use it?

Because like anything in life, Allaah is the true reason behind things. Even though some people often roll their eyes and think ‘Yeah right the old, make dua brother/sister’ but if you truly have faith in Allaah and know that He answers the prayers of those in need, you will never get tired of making du’aa to Him.
Take the story of Muusa alyhi salaam as an example, in Soorah Qasas we are told about how he left Fir’awn and was literally fleeing for his life, his one concern was saving his own skin. But what happened? He made du’aa to Allaah, and Allaah not only saved him but blessed him with a wonderful wife. So in short, if you make du’aa and don’t give up Allaah will help you, and that is a promise!

Marriage is never an easy thing. We think of it as this amazing romantic bliss that we will somehow attain one day.
Sisters dream of marrying that amazing brother who has the character of the Messenger of Allaah, the Eemaan of Aboo Bakr, the courage of Hamzah, the wealth of ‘AbdiRahmaan bin ‘Awf not to mention the SWAG of 2PAC Shakur (OK maybe not the last one) but the fact still remains, everyone wants to marry that one truly amazing person and it is not much different for guys.
We wish to bump into a Hoor al-’Een that has lost her way from Jannah (we aren’t too fussy about HOW she got lost, what is important is that she wants to marry us) I mean why wouldn’t that ever happen? It won’t happen, because you are daydreaming bro that’s why.
Now wake up and listen to this short lesson in some important ”Do’s and Dont’s” along with other useful information inshaaAllaah.

5 misconceptions regarding Ramadhaan

5 misconceptions regarding Ramadhaan

May Allaah grant us steadfastness, aameen!

Perhaps the key lesson in this article is this last point, many of us only ever finish the Qur’aan during the month of Ramadhaan, others might only fast during this month and the majority of us only know of night prayers during Ramadhaan.
However if we want to make the most of this month, we should all make a plan that includes us preparing for this month as well as preparing for what comes after it.
Do not be like those people who exhaust themselves during this month only to call up their girlfriend/boyfriend on Eid to chill, rather make Ramadhaan the new start in your life, turn to Allaah with sincerity and stop all the sins you might have been doing. If you don’t repent in Ramadhaan when the devils are chained up when will you repent?

Virgin, Religious Sister, Foundress, The Religious of the Virgin Mary

Look at Mother Ignacia del Espiritu Santo!
Would she have banned Muslim students donning the hijaab when they are dressed just like her?
Why disallow modestly clad Filipino Muslims from enrolling when they are similarly garbed like Virgin Mary?
Pilar College lives by the motto:
Initium Sapientiate Timor Domini
"The Fear of the Lord is the Beginning of Wisdom"

The Fear of other Religious Faiths is the Promptings of Bigotry...
Taqwa or piety and God-consciousness is reflected in one's mode of dressing;

Filipino Muslims students who wear the hijaab possess Fear of the Lord, ar-Rabbal aalameen.
