What Do Hijab, Niqab and Burqa Remind You of? certainly NOT suicide bombers, PLS!

What Do Hijaab, Niqaab and Burqa Remind You of? SECURITY RISK?
SOS: Engender RESPONSIBLE Peace Journalism Needed ASAP! Why write "SECURITY RISK?" as a caption? Shoulda been: PROVEN SECURITY RISK NOT AT ALL! or A Historic Handshake Erasing Histrionics About Security Risk! ;)

5 days ago – Warina Jukuy of Sulu, who wears a burqa, wrote in her blog that instead of “security risk,” the caption could have been written differently.

Suicide bombers?!?
Suicide bombers?!?

Suicide bombers?!?

Suicide bombers?!?
Suicide bombers?!?
I am inclined to say that it is a matter of perspective on how we perceive hijaab, niqaab, burqa in relation to the following:

1. nun's habit

2. respiratory masks (ie N95s, PAPR/hepa filter, surgical masks, SCBA etc) as well as

3. mosquito nets

4. sunscreen .

Except for the color black and white and all shades in between.... there really is hardly a difference :)
There are people who may or may not react to "spine-tingling stimuli" such as human beings in their birthday suit whether they may be aesthetically endowed or grotesque ;) for comic relief; H1N1, hepatitis, smog, pollutants, global warming, genocide, permanent war economy, Nightmare on Elm St, Twilight zone, tsunami, ghouls, Exorcist, vipers, slime, from horrendous, to ridiculous to even erogenous among others.

People just have to widen their horizon and strive to tone down stereotyping and avoid dangers of jumping (fully clothed or stark naked) into " unfounded conclusion. " :)

All actions are judged by INTENTIONS HAdith 1 from Imam Nawawi's.

Let us be consoled that the RIGHT TO WEAR HIJAB, NIQAB, BURQA and the RIGHT to be nude, semi-naked etc is at par when it comes to right.

Personally, I am not waging a HIJAB GLOBAL CAMPAIGN but I am obliged and pleased to protect the rights of those who are crying out for help because their chastity/modesty as much as their piety are endangered and unjustifiably infringed.

Need I even pose a rhetoric: " If Muslims compromise their niqab, hijab and burqa, shall they earn the respect of those who "disrespect Muslims" borne perhaps of their inclination to intolerance, discrimination, stereotyping and personal prejudices? Well, it IS a Muslim's /Muslimah's right to seek the pleasure of Allaah and it IS the right of others to seek the displeasure of ALLAH....La hawla wa la quwwata illa billaah aliyyil adheem....

Alhamdulillaahil ladhee bi nihmatihi tatimmus saalihaat.  May Allah bless you Sis Kong, there is hikmah in everything.... :)....I must thank you for emailing me those questions :)

      Wa iyyakum

Through it all, the PDI Burqa-niqaabi fiasco is a great opportunity for dawah and tarbiyah .... what a great blessing....qadarullaahi wa ma shaa afa alaa :)...indeed, there is hikmah in everything....la hawla wa la quwwata illa billaah :)

As what Ive written to Sis Kong: Yes. People- from all walks of life- do see things differently. :) I privately talked with Gams thru mobile. He infoed me abt this fiasco as I normally do not read the papers nor do I watch TV. :D

Abnormally, only do I get to read em. :D

As a writer and a newbie for "new niqaabi" :) , I too did not feel affronted. I told Gams that the photonews caption was meant to pose a rhetorical question: SECURITY RISK? which was actually meant as a provocative innuendo BUT is ALSO susceptible to a lot of interpretations. Personally, I explained to him that I saw it as (SECURITY RISK? Nga Ba? Hindi Nga!) Sort of Look! Phil Pres himself is casually greeting and shaking hands with her.

It is not for us to judge whose reactions are guided or misguided :) We are talking of perceptions here. Sense, sensibility, and senses of sorts ie apart from the other 5 senses - add up the ff: sense of humor/rumor/horror, sixth sense, common sense and nonsense. ;)

Btw, I am not sure if the LADY drew her face veil over her niqaab so that the whole ensemble: khimar, jilbaab, n niqaab becomes a burqa. Not sure. Some Muslim males reacted more on the handshake. It aroused their sense of protectiveness over the Niqaabi Muslimah....for them PNoy was the security risk... NgWL endangering the Muslimah security.

Although I pointed out that her hands are gloved they still reacted negatively. :) Non-Muslims have ambivalent feelings about the whole SS? fiasco. Some feathers were ruffled; some old scabs became tender and were poked at; some dirty and clean wounds festered even more....as other stoke the dying embers; others turned the smoke ablazing.
