*Narrated Abu Dharr رضي الله عنه that he went to the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم and said:
I love you O Ahl al-Bait.
The Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم said: “(By) Allaah!” He
(Abu Dharr) said: “(By) Allaah!” He صلى الله عليه وسلم said: “Be prepared for acute
poverty, for extreme hardship rushes more rapidly towards a person who loves us,
than a flood which flows from top of a hill to the bottom.”
[Mustadrak al-Haakim (8020), and he graded it as “Saheeh
as per the condition of the Shaykhain (al-Bukhaaree and Muslim).” And al-Dhahabee
agreed with him. Shaikh al-Albaanee also graded it as “Saheeh” only in
al-Saheehah (6/790)]
